I'm in!

Finally, after a week of playing, and failing, in several qualifiers, I've achieved my goal and won a seat at the Circus Poker £100,000 tournament in Birmingham this Saturday, albeit through the back door.
I think the kind people at www.CircusPoker.co.uk took pity on me and arranged a special heads up tournament against my coach, Waldorf1. The deal was that if I beat Waldorf1 heads up, I get a seat at the tournament this weekend. But seeing as he has taught me all I know about poker, how was I supposed to do that?
As it happens I got off to quite a good start and was soon up to $2,100 with Waldorf1 on just $800 after I won a few pots on the flop. Better yet, a couple of hands later I was dealt Q-Q on the big blind. Waldorf 1 raised to double the blinds, I re-raised, he then went all-in and, and after some deliberation, I called. He turned over 9-8 and the flop came J-7-4. Then came the card I didn't want to see, the 10, giving him the straight! No! Now we were level once more and I had to win his chips all over again.
Thankfully the poker gods were smiling on me and the good cards kept coming. I knew it was only a matter of time before Waldorf1 went all-in as he was short stacked. When he finally did my A-8 beat whatever he had when the ace came on the flop and that was it, all over in 30 minutes. The pupil had beaten his teacher. Birmingham here I come. I've packed my shades, my iPod and practiced my poker face in the mirror. Now I just need the cards and I can start thinking about what to do with the money…
