First Timer

Don’t worry if you’ve not been to a casino before, all of our teams want to ensure you have an enjoyable evening and will help as much as they can.

Here’s a useful guide to casino etiquette to help you on your first visit. On joining all of our casinos you will given a new members dvd which takes you through a visit to a casino, along with a guide to gaming.

Joining

Becoming a member of a Casino

You need to be over 18 and have photographic ID on your first visit such as passport or driving licence.  If you don’t have any ID but have come with a registered member then you will be allowed one visit as a guest without ID.

There is no fee for joining.

Clothing etiquette

Smart casual is the general rule. Smart jeans and smart trainers are acceptable. However, football shirts, shorts, muscle/vest tops are not. Caps and other hats are not allowed. For the security and safety of all our members, it is vital that we can see people clearly on our CCTV system.

Playing

Playing the Games

All of the casino games are easy to play after a short while. New visitors find both American Roulette and Blackjack are ideal starter games as they are very simple to play and highly enjoyable. Leaflets are also available throughout the casino and there is a new member DVD offered when you join which gives a 10-minute guide to the games plus top-tips. Additionally please ask any of the managers who will assist in giving guidance to get you started.

Access to Money

The casino has an ATM which accepts all major credit and debit cards. Alternatively the cash desk situated just off the gaming floor is able to accept debit cards.

The cash desk can take cheques up to your guarantee card limit. We can accept cheques over your card limit but that would be by prior arrangement with the cash desk.

On a debit card you can withdraw up to £1000 at the cash desk, you can take this in smaller amounts or the full amount, this is subject to the funds being available in your account. If you wish to use a credit card in our ATM you will be allowed up to the daily limit your bank applies, typically £300-£400 per day.

Understanding Chips

Chips are bought at the table, simply put your note down on the table and the dealer will exchange it for chips.

There are 2 different types of chips, some with values and others without.

The ones with values are called “Cash Chips” and are effectively the currency within the casino.  You can use them to play on any table you like. The non-value chips are called “Colour Chips” and are only used on Roulette.  They help the dealer identify who has which chips. Remember you cannot take “Colour Chips” away from the table you are playing on.  When ready to leave a table tell the dealer “cash out” and they will exchange them for cash chips.

When you’re ready to leave simply take the chips to the cash desk where they will be exchanged for you into cash.

Table Manners

Talking to Dealers

You are allowed to talk to the dealers but please remember that during busy times they have to look after a large number of customers. It would be a good idea to spend some time watching what the other players do, so that you know what is appropriate. They can give help with the rules of the game but they cannot give advice on how to bet.

Having a Drink

If you want a drink whilst gaming simply ask one of the floor waiting staff. You can pay using cash or cash chips. Remember to keep drinks off the gaming tables and use the small trolley tables that are provided.

Watching

You can watch the games, however seats and positions immediately in front of the table are reserved for players. You will normally just take a few steps back and that will be a suitable position to watch from.

Tipping

Gaming and cash desk staff are not allowed to accept tips. Reception and Hospitality staff are allowed to accept tips, if you feel that you would like to reward the good service received then a small token of your appreciation is acceptable.

Mobile Phones and Cameras

In non-gaming areas you’re permitted to use a mobile phone whilst respecting other members. Generally, taking pictures within the casino is not allowed.  However if you are in the casino for a special occasion our manager may be able to allow this as an exception. Please note that this will not however be allowed next to the gaming as photography is strictly prohibited in this area.

Bringing Friends

Your friends are very welcome. Tell them that they just need to bring some ID with them.  The registration process takes a minute or so and then they will be straight in the casino.
